SHAWNEE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

January 13, 2025

Tonight’s meeting was super short with no meaningful discussion on any items. One member of the public did speak during Business from the Floor and inquire about the city’s plan to fight climate change and food insecurity. Several councilmembers and the mayor also thanked the snow removal crews for their hard work during the recent snowstorm.

Additionally, the Council considered the following:

• Passed consent agenda (unanimous)

• Rezoned .33 acres from Commercial Neighborhood to Duplex at 65th and Nieman (unanimous)

• Passed Special Use Permit for Bizzy Bee Academy in-home daycare (unanimous)

• Approved Special Warranty Deed conveying property to Airtex Inc. per the terms of their bond agreement (unanimous)

• Approved final change order for the Gleason Road Bridge project (unanimous)

• Renewed contract with zTrip for the 2025 CityRide Transportation Services.

• Ratified semimonthly claims (unanimous)

There was no council committee meeting.
